Teaching Centre Assistant, Nay Pyi Taw

We are looking for a Teaching Centre Assistant who will be based in Nay Pyi Taw. He/She will be responsible for providing an excellent and consistent level of service to the British Council’s Teaching Operations in Nay Pyi Taw and providing administrative support to the Contract Manager and teachers based there. As the Assistant, you will have to liaise with Government office staff and other clients’ administrative staff to ensure office and teaching facilities meet the required standards for operations. You will ensure all equipment is in working order, checking stationery stock and providing timely photocopying, collating, bookbinding and laminating services, as required. Other duties include preparing placement tests for contract students and preparing registers for contract students. In addition, providing necessary logistic support services to new Teaching Centre teachers to Nay Pyi Taw is required. The Assistant will be reporting to both English Business Partnerships Manager and the Senior Teacher based in Nay Pyi Taw.

To be considered, you must have proven 2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service role. If you have prior work experience in procuring for office supplies and in facilities management, you will be a preferred candidate. A Bachelor Degree and/or a Diploma in BA is essential. Language requirements include fluency in Burmese and English (reading, speaking, and writing). The Teaching Centre Assistant needs to have strong communication skills as he/she will need to deal with the various stakeholders; Senior teacher, teachers, Government staff members and Government senior officials.
