English for Education Systems teacher training is delivered to teachers, volunteers and community members throughout the country. This helps to improve language and teaching methodologies and provides quality non-formal education to community members. The centres include Millennium centres and Monastic Education centres.
As part of the training, our trainers have shared with the local teachers the latest and best English language teaching (ELT) classroom practices. The common topics are:
- learning styles
- use of flashcards, charts and blackboard in the classroom
- lesson planning presentation techniques
- songs and games
- classroom management
- giving instructions and asking questions
- correcting learners.
The local teachers find all the topics beneficial and interesting as well as relevant. We are delighted to have received excellent feedback from all townships where we have delivered the programme.
