This post will lead the LIS for Myanmar and ensure it is closely aligned to wider country objectives and plans. The role is to develop quality Library and Information Services (LIS) which support the strategy and objectives of the British Council in Myanmar and meet the needs of our target audiences.

LIS in Myanmar plays a vital role within the British Council as the provider of library and information services to a membership of approximately 10,000, underpins BC’s cultural relations programme and supports the SBUs.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
This post will lead the LIS for Myanmar and ensure it is closely aligned to wider country objectives and plans. The role is to develop quality Library and Information Services (LIS) which support the strategy and objectives of the British Council in Myanmar and meet the needs of our target audiences. The responsibilities include develop and deliver events and activities/content through LIS that are in line with Strategic Business Units (Arts, English & Exams and Education & Society) and Full Cost Recovery project objectives. It is important to maximise efficiencies in the library in terms of content (hard copy and digital), and through its operating model to deliver the agreed Library Evolution to 2025 in Myanmar.
WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT
You will also be able to support the development and execution of country market strategies for exams, agreeing the delivery mechanisms, budgets and programmes with cluster/regional marketing and overseeing delivery to plan. You can take pride to ensure effective, integrated and joined up delivery of country marketing activity to maximise impact and share of voice in Singapore.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To be considered, you should have excellent writing and spoken English and first degree, preferably in Management, Education, ELT, or other relevant area. You need at least 5 years’ experience working in LIS. LIS specific qualification would be a plus. Knowledge of British Council portfolio of products and services across business units is desirable.
