Role overview

We are looking for a Grant Officer role based in Yangon to deliver and coordinate local activity under the EU-funded MyJustice Programme in Myanmar. Reporting to the Senior Grant Officer, you will be responsible for implementing complex granting processes which comply with British Council and EU policies and requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring, reconciliation and reporting against the contract budget of grant recipient organisations.

With this opportunity, you will get a chance to design the granting process, problem solve and use adaptive strategy while working with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will hone your technical knowledge in supporting partners’ financial management capacity and learn about the MyJustice programme’s approach to Access to Justice.

To be considered a successful candidate, you must bring along your experience in project-level financial accounting for donor agency such as the European Union and/or other agency and on the administration of partners and sub-contractors in delivering programme objectives and activities. You should also have experience in contract and procurement administration and have provided support for audit management. Candidates with experience of managing governance/CSO project and/or managing EU funded projects and grants will be preferred. English Language skills and a Financial Management qualification are essential.
