ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM
The Examinations business in Myanmar comprises a wide range of Professional and Vocational Examinations, School Exams and English Examinations, the British Council’s English Language test – Aptis and the International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS). We work with 10 Awarding Bodies and 12 UK Universities/ Institutions. Professional Exams are the largest product in the portfolio and are delivered in 25 locations around the country. The Professional Exams market is strongly driven by the local job opportunities and transnational education opportunities.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the 2-year market led, integrated cross portfolio Business Development & Sales strategy aligned with Global/Regional Exams strategy working with other BC colleagues to leverage opportunities and create value. This role is ultimately responsible for building and managing demand, ensuring capacity fill, delivering income/surplus targets, ensuring excellent B2B Customer Service and overseeing quality of B2C customer experience. Where the most senior Exams representative in Country, this role will also sit on Country SMT and oversee performance & team working of Exams on the ground. It is envisaged that this will take up to 20% of role focus.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To be qualified for this role, you will have:
- Relevant work experience in a BD Manager role
- Experience of team leadership
- Experience of sustaining and/or growing a product/service in line with strategic priorities for income and impact
- Significant experience collecting and analyzing client/stakeholder feedback and using the data to identify business needs and obstacles; works to resolve them.
- Experience of identifying ways in which service can be improved, and takes these forward
- Insight on education sector in Myanmar
