All of our teachers are highly qualified, with professional teaching qualifications including CELTA, DELTA, PGCE, MA TEFL and TYLEC, and experienced experts at teaching English. 

Most of our teachers specialise in teaching either adults, or kids and teens. Some have other specific experience, such as teaching business English or English via online classes.

Alison Barrett

Regional Director of Education and Society, TREE Project, British Council

Alison is the SRO for TREE. She started as an English teacher in Nepal in 1991. Over the last 12 years, she has held management positions in the British Council in Asia and has led large-scale English language teacher education programs and partnerships designed to improve the quality of English language policy and practice. She has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language and specialises in the Continuing Professional Development of teacher educators and teachers.

Amie Dodd

Amie Dodd (Bogalay Education College)

English and Padegogy Facilitator, TREE Project, British Council Myanmar

Amie has been working in education for 15 years around Europe, South America, and Asia. She has been working in Myanmar since 2014. She spent two years in Toungoo with the EfECT project and three years in Yangon working on media and arts projects. She is now based in Bogalay Education College and loves eating mohingha.

Julia Ayscough

Secondary Academic Manager

I've been teaching English for over 10 years, working in Ecuador, Vietnam and Myanmar. I completed the Delta in 2018, with a focus on teaching Secondary students. I’ve been with the British Council Myanmar for 6 years and I love teaching Myanmar students. They are bright and inquisitive, and I always leave the classroom feeling inspired. I encourage my students to be autonomous, think critically, and be creative. When I am not teaching you will find me hiking in a forest or swimming in the sea.

Krisztina is an experienced trainer with a background in NGOs and youth work. She is excited to be the Inclusion Facilitator for Bogalay EC. She enjoys helping young people to realise their full potential.

Jo Kofi Nseibo

Jo Kofi Nseibo (Dawei Education College)

TREE Inclusion Facilitator, TREE Project, Voluntary Service Overseas

Kofi Nseibo has over 20 years of teaching experience across Basic, Secondary and Tertiary institutions in Ghana and in South Africa. His passion in Inclusive Education for children with disabilities motivates him to undertake a voluntary service in Dawei Education Degree College in Myanmar where he serves as a TREE Facilitator in Inclusive Teaching Practices. Kofi likes Myanmar tea and enjoys working with teachers.

Dominic Field

Dominic trained as a teacher in the UK in 2003 and has worked in classrooms at home and overseas since then. He is delighted to be back in Dawei. He loves dogs and the seaside.

I'm also a yoga instructor and in my free time I love to watch films, read, take photos, do and teach yoga of course, go for walks and have a chilled time over Indian milk tea with friends. "

Ian is a qualified UK state school teacher and English language teacher. He worked in a variety of roles around education in the UK including as primary teacher, school governor trainer, family learning manager and family support officer. Ian has taught English as a second language in Sheffield, Nepal and Malaysia and led successful large-scale teacher training projects in Myanmar and Thailand.
