Please be informed that Cambridge Assessment International Education CAIE exams (Oct-Nov 2021) series has been cancelled in Myanmar.

Cambridge International school exams in June 2021

Cambridge will run their June 2021 exam series in all countries as planned and where permitted by national or regional authorities.

In countries or regions where exams do not run, Cambridge will switch from exams to a teacher assessment approach. The approach will apply to all schools in those countries or regions.

Cambridge is providing exemptions from some exam components for schools and private candidates where teaching and learning has been disrupted by Covid-19.

Cambridge will also support schools and private candidates by expanding the special consideration process.

The special consideration process allows for adverse circumstances, including illness, bereavement, temporary injury or disruption to an exam.

Students who have taken at least one assessment component are eligible for a grade.

Private candidates must apply for exemptions and special consideration through the British Council office where they made their entry.

Private candidates will be contacted after the entry closing date with information on how to apply for exemptions. School candidates must contact their school for further information.

UK school exams

Students who were due to sit exams this summer will receive grades based on teacher assessment. Awarding bodies are supporting teachers with guidance and training to help make assessment decisions.

This method has been agreed as a fair way to help young people progress to the next stage of their education.

Our work with awarding bodies and you

We work with three UK awarding bodies – Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel – to offer school exams internationally. These are international GCSEs/iGCSEs, O Levels, AS Levels and A Levels.

Although we administer exams in partnership with awarding bodies, we are not involved in their grading processes.

We will continue to support schools and private candidates by working with each awarding body to understand how these changes may affect you.

Should the situation in your country change and affect plans for exams, we will work with each awarding body on the next steps and provide regular updates.

Your health is our priority, and we are closely monitoring the health and safety situation and government advice in your location.
