The British Council library is commemorating International Youth Day (12 August) and World Photography Day (19 August) with a special event—a photography competition exclusively for youth (age between 15 and 24). This competition centers around the theme "My city through my lens”, encouraging youth to embark on a visual journey through the vibrant city. Participants are invited to capture compelling images that epitomise the essence and uniqueness of the city, showcasing its characteristic charm and spirit through the lens of photography.

Eligibility - The contest is open to all youth in Myanmar. (between the ages of 15 and 24 years) Only 1 entry can be submitted per participant.
Competition details:
- Participants are to submit their entries latest by 10 August 2024.
Important dates:
- Submission Dates: 10 August 2024
- On 12 August, during the International Youth Day all the photograph entries will be displayed in the library.
- Winner announcement – 19 August during the World Photography Day.
Terms and conditions of the competition:
- The photograph must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame or adding filters.
- No obscenity will be entertained and will be disqualified.
- The contest is open for online submission only.
- The photograph submitted by the participant shall be devoid of any copyrighted images.
- Entries will be judged by British Council. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.
- Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
- The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry.
Submission guidelines:
- The photograph can be in colour(s), monochromatic, or black/white.
