About the programme

Creative Communities Learning Lab is a new series of free, dynamic and accessible online learning modules by creatives, for creatives worldwide.

It offers self-led courses, designed with specific input from creative hub leaders and their communities in Southeast Asia and the UK. Learning from stories of resilience, challenges and innovation, we set out to develop online courses that will support creative hub leaders and cultural professionals navigate this changing context brought by Covid-19. This project is part of our Creative Hubs for Good programme and led by the British Council team in Southeast Asia.

There are three themes the producers have developed into three courses with the help of creative hub leaders and experts:

  • Digital communities strategy and management
  • Ways to monetise creative services
  • Bringing your training online

Our partners

The project was commissioned by the British Council with the aim of offering a space for sharing knowledge, stories and creative adaptations directly from creative hub leaders and their communities of professionals.

A team of producers - Creative Friction (UK) and Makerspace Manila (The Philippines) - have led the development of the learning journeys and content. The content reflects the views only of the authors and contributors.

Additionally, 17 brilliant hub leaders from the UK and Southeast Asia have been advising the project team, providing their input and testing the learning content:
