We invite library members aged 14 and above to take part in Pages in the Rain, a four-month reading programme running from June to October 2026, inspired by Myanmar’s monsoon season.
Pages in the Rain is a seasonal reading initiative that encourages participants to read, reflect, and connect during the rainy months. The programme invites readers to explore at least one book a month, or more if they wish, and to share their experiences with others. It also marks two milestones: the 80th Anniversary of the British Council in Myanmar and the UK National Year of Reading 2026.
Participants will receive a reading booklet with prompts and suggestions to support their reading. Reading Ambassadors will also host bi-weekly gatherings for participants to share ideas, discuss books, and connect through conversation.
