Next Generation is a British Council global research programme initiated in countries that are experiencing a period of significant change, with the purpose of ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and their interests represented in decisions that will have lasting implications for their lives.

British Council and VSO Myanmar published the first Next Generation study in Myanmar in 2019. Over 2000 Myanmar youth were asked for their views on employment, education, health, and their aspiration for their futures, through both a nation-wide survey and in-depth interviews.
