One of the aims of the Lat Khat Than project was to provide participants with opportunities to interact with business. To achieve this, a series of exhibitions have been planned since 2017 to give participants opportunities to showcase their work and network. The exhibitions also brought the participants work to public attention and highlighted the value of Myanmar textile practice.
The graduation show displayed products produced by students studying the Diploma in Textile Technology at the Saunders Weaving and Vocational Institute. The exhibition aimed to highlight innovative design and creativity inspired by nature and the cultural heritage of Myanmar. Displays included new textile fabrics and fashion and home accessories created by the students as part of their final major project.
The students have undertaken their final major project as a group work over a period of six-months. The final major project module was designed to give students experience of carrying out a self-directed project where specific areas of interest can be explored and ideas developed. This equipped students with skills in creative thinking, analysis and research to support their intended future career.
