Where can you take IELTS in Myanmar?

The British Council in Myanmar offers IELTS test dates in Yangon and Mandalay as official test centre locations.

IELTS on paper tests are conducted in Yangon and Mandalay while IELTS on computer tests are conducted in Yangon and Mandalay at the moment. You can also take the test from the comfort of your home or anywhere with a stable internet connection with IELTS Online (IELTS Academic only). 

If you take IELTS Online, the Speaking test will usually be before your Listening, Reading and Writing. It could be on the same or a different day.

Here’s where you can find details of IELTS exam fees in Myanmar. You can choose between IELTS on Paper or IELTS on Computer, or IELTS Online.

Important Notice: Starting from 20 November 2025, 11:00 PM MMT, the British Council will no longer accept bank transfers or POS payments for IELTS exams in Myanmar. From this date, payment must be made online in USD only. For more information, click here

  • Payment for the above exams, IELTS on Computer (Academic & General Training), IELTS on Paper (Academic & General Training),IELTS for UKVI on Computer,IELTS Life Skills(A1/A2 & B1) and IELTS Online Exam Fees MUST be made at the point of online booking using a valid credit or debit card that supports international transactions (E.g, Visa, Mastercard, JCB or any other card accepted for online payments globally).
  • These transactions are subject to the exchange rate and trasaction fees imposed by your credit/debit card provider bank.
  • The British Council cannot accept payments from banks or financial insitutation sactioned by the UK or other relevant jurisdictions.
